Bringing it Together

First, thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I wanted to start this blog by sharing things that I often reflect on, my parent’s immigrant stories, the lessons they had to learn on their own, and how they taught me through their actions.

Because communication was an opportunity for our family growing up, sometimes even now, we had to be very observant of our actions and then translate them. Today I’m still very much a “show me” type of person, although I have had to develop my communication skills, I still heavily live by “actions over words.”

Nonetheless, these are things that you can expect from me. I’ll be reflecting on my journey of navigating my personal and professional life, sharing my findings with you, and doing my best in providing you with actionable items you can apply.

Most recently, I have found that personal and professional development should be linear if you want a fulfilling life. We have found during the pandemic that many have been quitting jobs that no longer fit their values and seeking careers that are more aligned with who they want to be.

During her interview with the Saint Louis Business Journal for her 2022 HR Award, Michelle Reckelhoff shared, “Rather than the Great Resignation, I believe we are witnessing the Great Reprioritization of the workforce. When the world shut down for so long, many had to jump off the hamster wheel of life and think about what they do and why they do it. This led many people to rethink how they can establish a life that is more fulfilling and flexible. People are no longer interested in “defaulting” back to what it was. The way you work with people and their needs became a major differentiator in getting strong talent to join and stay.”

Michelle’s words resonated with me because I recently moved from Utah to Missouri, within the same organization, to escape a boss that was not healthy for me and work with a boss that is. I’m coming up on my 2nd anniversary since taking the role and find myself much happier with my work, and it has led to a much more fulfilling life.

My goal is to share things like: the last 3+ years of my journey of personal development, how personal and professional development translate into each other, how I’ve navigated my personal and professional life, being a father, a first-generation American, a Latino navigating Corporate America, building my brand, my journey as I expand my brand into the internet, and all the things in between.

This isn’t a platform for me to just share how Terrific I am, my intentions are pure, I want you to take away something every single week. I’d like you to be inspired to take action for yourself, to have a more fulfilled life, to own your greatness, and to know that you are capable.

So I hope you stick with me, read and share my content, and help me create a community for people who don’t know where to look, where to start, or what to do. Because we can figure it out together.

I’ll see you next week, until then connect with me on Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram.
